Ian Caspersson's wildlife illustrations of a zebra, leopard, and an eagle are in the Big Book of Contemporary Illustration. The three images were chosen by Martin Dawbler, the Big Book's author. Mr. Dawbler contacted Mr. Caspersson early spring 2008 to see if he was interested in submitting his work for the book.
"I was very interested." said Caspersson. "It's an honor and an opportunity. As an illustrator, obviously I'm thrilled to have my work printed in a book of this magnitude, but I'm also extremely pleased with the opportunity this presents with regard to the growth of my business. The timing has been an absolute blessing and I'm hopeful that this will continue to open new doors for IC9design. With that said, I would also like to thank Martin Dawbler for taking the time to locate and contact me. Without him, none of this would be possible."
The Big Book of Contemporary Illustration is set up in chapters that highlight illustration techniques and themes in: built environment, natural world, comic, graphic, technical and documentary, lifestyle, travel, and imaginary. Caspersson's illustrations are presented within the pages of the chapter titled Natural World. It displays work by some of the best illustrators in the world and is a fantastic mode of inspiration for creative people.
After making a go with selling his illustrations, Caspersson started the business IC9design in order to meld his passion for art and design with websites and online marketing. IC9design provides website design, development, online marketing, and graphic design services to its clients in New York and Pennsylvania. "You have to do what you love in order to stay in the game. For me, it's all about design and developing solid relationships with other business professionals and clients." Caspersson concluded.
