Planview, the leading independent provider of enterprise-wide portfolio management solutions, announced the availability of Planview OpenSuite for Oracle, an integration between Planview Enterprise and Oracle's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions, as one the integrations leveraging the Planview OpenSuite Interoperability Platform.

The pre-built integration with Oracle's key business system enables Planview Enterprise to leverage existing data from Oracle to ease implementation and setup time, and ensures consistency and accuracy of data between systems over the long-term. As a result, Planview customers are able to maximize the ROI of their investments in legacy systems and make strategic business decisions based on the most comprehensive and accurate data available across their organization.

"Planview OpenSuite for Oracle provides a pre-built connector to share data between these industry-leading portfolio management and ERP systems, so that IT organizations do not have to dedicate scarce technical resources to the task of a custom integration," said Louise Allen, vice president of product management at Planview. "The inclusion of Oracle applications in the Planview OpenSuite Interoperability Platform reinforces our commitment to interoperability and to making heterogeneous environments more manageable, affordable, and effective."

Planview OpenSuite for Oracle was developed for organizations that already utilize Oracle's comprehensive ERP solution, but struggle to manage data across the hundreds of legacy information resources in their heterogeneous IT environments. Planview OpenSuite solves this problem with connectors that eliminate the complexity of low-level interface coding; therefore reducing costs, time, and risks associated with complicated integrations. The Planview connectors can access, transform, and create composite services from disparate sources and provide universal accessibility for the Oracle BPEL Process Manager and the entire Oracle business integration suite.

Using Planview OpenSuite, organizations can integrate Oracle and Planview Enterprise data in batch or real-time modes. For example, financial data in Oracle can be automatically shared with the IT and product development departments, making it easier for project and product managers to keep projects on budget with access to labor and non-labor costs in Planview. In addition, Oracle HR data can be automatically imported to Planview Enterprise, eliminating the need to re-input the same personnel information.

Typical Planview OpenSuite for Oracle integration points include:

  •     Resources from Oracle HR data into Planview Enterprise
  •     Timecard actuals from Planview Enterprise into Oracle financials
  •     Financial costing from Oracle into Planview Enterprise financial planning
