Few things go better with the holidays than fine wines paired with delicious foods, both of which can be found on the Madera Wine Trail’s 2009 Holiday Spirit Weekend.
Taking place November 14 and 15, this event will bring together the region’s local wineries as their tempting vintages are paired with indulgent food. Local music and art come together to round out the perfect weekend.
"This is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit while sampling some of the amazing wines the Madera County wineries have to offer," said Jarrod Lyman, Director of Media for the Yosemite Sierra Visitors Bureau.
"The wines found in this region are coveted by wine enthusiasts the world over, and this event will give wine lovers the chance to meet many of the vintners themselves while sampling their best creations," he said.
The event runs 10 am to 5 pm both Saturday and Sunday. Wine lovers may purchase a Passport Glass for $25 at any of the participating wineries both days of the event, or pre-purchase tickets online for $20 at http://www.myticketportal.com.
For those who don’t want to drive, there are several options. The Vineyard Restaurant in Madera will be open for dinner Saturday November 14 and will waive corkage fees for bottles purchased on the Madera Wine Trail. Contact the Vineyard at 559.674.0923.
The Madera County Arts Council will host a two day art show & exhibit at their Circle Arts Gallery at Cleveland & Schnoor in Madera. Agajanian Vineyards will be at the Gallery pouring their award-winning local wines both days. The tasting and art show are included in the price of admission.
