PM Crash Course™ for IT Professionals
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) October 9, 2009
RMC Project Management, the innovator in project management training and development since 1991, has announced the worldwide release of its newest project management book, "PM Crash Course™ for IT Professionals" by Rita Mulcahy. This book is the first joint publication of Cisco Press and RMC Publications, and is designed to give project managers real-world tools and techniques for use on currently active IT projects.
The 16-chapter, 3 appendix book covers real-world issues like defining effective requirements, establishing project metrics, defining scope, managing project stakeholders, choosing the right PM tools, and preventing IT project failure. The comprehensive guide also offers high-level discussions of business process improvement standards like Six Sigma, ITIL, and Kaizen, as well as detailed interviews with IT executives regarding their real-world application of project management.
The first book to combine the experience of two respective IT and project management industry leaders, "PM Crash Course™ for IT Professionals" reinforces the innovative nature of both Cisco Press and Rita Mulcahy. "Throughout the book development process, it was obvious Cisco Press and RMC share the same philosophy--that the key to remaining the leader in your industry is to work harder and innovate more than everyone else," stated Mulcahy. "To be affiliated with a world-class publishing company like Cisco Press is truly an honor, and certainly one of the highlights of my 20 years in the project management industry."
Paul Boger, Vice President and Publisher of Pearson/Cisco Press, is also excited about the partnership. "Pearson has a long history of partnering with top experts, leaders, and creators of technology. When developing a project management resource that would specifically help IT Professionals, Rita Mulcahy was the only logical choice," offered Boger. "We are thrilled to have Rita as a valued member of the Pearson and Cisco Press family, and excited to be able to deliver such rich content to the IT community."
Eric Rudolf, RMC's Director of Marketing, believes the book fills a critical need within the project management industry. "IT professionals are keenly aware of the fact that their projects are different, and deserve a resource that addresses their very unique and specific challenges," noted Rudolf. "This new book does exactly that--in a real-world way that only Rita Mulcahy can deliver on."
In addition to the hard copy book, RMC plans to release a complete suite of ancillary products over the next 12 months based on "PM Crash Course™ for IT Professionals." RMC has already begun development of an audio book, and is hoping to release a full e-Learning class for IT project managers in early 2010. Parties looking for more information regarding this new book may review the detailed book outline and description posted on the RMC website.
