Three more credit unions -- iQ Credit Union (WA), Royal Credit Union (WI and MN), and SafeAmerica Credit Union (CA) -- recently deployed the MeridianLink system. SafeAmerica Credit Union is using MeridianLink's LoansPQ to automate their loan processing both in branch and online. Royal Credit Union is using MeridianLink's XpressAccounts to automate member applications and new accounts online. iQ Credit Union had been using LoansPQ for lending since 2006. They recently deployed XpressAccounts both in branch and online for membership applications and new accounts.
"Each of these credit unions had different needs and goals in automating all or part of their member financial services," explains Tim Nguyen, chief information and technology officer for MeridianLink. "Our ability to adapt technology to create a custom fit for each individual credit union is one of the areas where we excel as a company."
In addition, each of these credit unions has different core data processors and ancillary programs and products that were integrated into the system. iQ Credit Union was keen to take advantage of the cross sales opportunities in having membership applications and new accounts together with lending in the same platform. Royal Credit Union wanted to extend a level of convenience to their current and potential members by offering them the ability to apply for membership and open new accounts online 24/7. "We were amazed," says Erik LeMay, applications support manager for Royal Credit Union. "During the first couple of weeks that the system was available online, we received over a hundred applications -- just by offering the link on our web site without any additional marketing."
SafeAmerica Credit Union was looking for a higher level of efficiency in lending. "When we processed the first CUDL application on LoansPQ, we couldn't believe how fast the system was," notes Rob Lajoie, vice president of Lending for SafeAmerica. "One member was driving to a dealership to purchase a vehicle. He called us from his cell phone, and we were able to get him approved, while he was on the phone, before he got to the dealer. We also have been happy to eliminate a lot of paperwork by using LoansPQ."
