National Association for the Education of Young Children strikes a cord with listeners

NAEYC Radio, the web radio program focused on the quality of educational and developmental services for all children from birth through age eight, has hit iTunes' top 20 list. The show, produced through collaboration with the National Association for the Education of Young Children and BAM Radio Network, hit number 24 on the iTunes Education K-12 chart in its second week on the Apple Inc. site and this week moved up the charts to number 16.

The program, which was also selected by iTunes editors as "new and notable," launched on iTunes with a discussion of how parents and educators can translate research into action and was followed by an examination of why increasing numbers of boys are unmotivated and underachieving. The program is co-hosted by Mark Ginsberg, executive director of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and by Rae Pica, and produced and syndicated by Jackstreet Media Ventures LLC. Currently featured on the iTunes education channel, the program can be downloaded at http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=328570104, or streamed at http://www.naeyc.org/newsroom/NAEYCradio or http://www.bamradionetwork.com.

"It is an honor to know that people are connecting with the association through NAEYC Radio," said Mark R. Ginsberg, Ph.D. "We will continue to work each month on providing you the latest in early childhood education from the field's leading experts."

"The interviews have a wealth of information to bring to NAEYC's 90,000 members, including early childhood professionals, education advocates, and parents. It's very rewarding to know these insights on early childhood education and child development are being well received," said Rae Pica, cofounder of BAM Radio Network.
