Coconut Creek, FL (PRWEB) October 13, 2009
A vending machine manufacturer in Coconut Creek, FL has developed a "trifecta" charitable giving approach to some of our nation's largest issues. At this time, these include Breast Cancer Awareness and helping to Support Our Troops. Rocket Vending is proud to announce the signing of unique marketing agreements whereby they are able to manufacture and distribute the World's FIRST Awareness vending machines. The machines provide single servings and are the FIRST vending machines which specifically target Awareness issues.
The first series in the awareness line, which is the Breast Cancer machine, is based out of the experiences of Rocket Vending Vice President, Dori Mirkow, whose mother is a recent breast cancer survivor. While on vacation in Tennessee, she was browsing a local gift boutique in order to bring back some souvenirs for her family back home. The Hint Mint Breast Cancer Awareness tin was right next to the register and Dori purchased it for her mother. Motivated by the experiences of her mother, Beth Liotta, in dealing with her diagnosis and subsequent treatment, Dori began to pursue a venture to create a Breast Cancer Awareness vending machine as a way of honoring her mother and to help fund breast cancer research, awareness and advocacy.
Rocket Vending owners, President Michael Fischer and Vice President Dori Mirkow, both had the mindset from the beginning of operations at Rocket Vending to "give back". They both have the "Pay It Forward" approach. They both believe that if you keep the momentum going forward of doing the right thing, it comes back to you. Michael is the creator of the charity, Drops of Hope, which has a focus on helping pediatric cancer patients. Rocket Vending donates to this cause with the sales of their Jolt and Jelly Belly machines. Rocket Vending's office manager, Kasey Travers, daughter was recently diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. As a result, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation was contacted and charitable donations are being sent in to this charity as well. Rocket Vending also has a firefighter in their program, he requested that the Central Virginia Burn Camp be added as a recipient of funds as he volunteers with this charity and it is near and dear to his heart.
The Awareness series machines channel funding into charities via three ways: with each Awareness machine purchase Rocket Vending donates a percentage to one of the associated charities, secondly, the manufacturer of the mints which are vended out of the machines; Hint Mint, contributes a percentage for each case which is sold, and last but not least, Rocket Vending requests that each distributor owning an Awareness machine donate $1.00 per month, per machine to an associate charity of their choice. Vice President Mirkow remarked that she has set a goal of 20,000 awareness machines in the field every year, thereby generating $20,000.00 a month in charitable donations just from the distributors alone.
Rocket Vending launched their most recent machine, the Support Our Troops venue, on December 7th, 2008, in recognition of Pearl Harbor Day. This machine works exactly as the same premise as the breast cancer machine program with the exception that the donations are sent in to charities that help to support and care for members of all military organizations. Rocket Vending has plans to center their entire business around "Awareness" vending and plans to launch new and exciting products will continue to occur every six to eight months. Rocket Vending founders, Michael Fischer and Dori Mirkow believe that the reason why their company is achieving so much success is due to the powerhouse of customer service behind it and also because their business philosophy is to operate with meaning and purpose. They treat everyone above and beyond what their expectations are. Whether employees, families, vendors or distributors, they believe it all relates, and it shows.
As part of the Breast Cancer & Support Our Troops Awareness campaigns, Rocket Vending created two distinct awareness vending websites: http://www.PinkTributes.com and http://www.YellowTributes.com which allows individuals to upload pictures of their loved ones and write a brief testament about struggles, triumphs, memorials or honoring of victims of breast cancer or a military member.
