ANHAM, LLC Chairman and CEO Mr. Abul Huda Farouki Participates in Clinton Global Initiative's 2009 Annual Meeting

ANHAM, LLC CEO participates in CGI Annual Meeting.

Vienna, VA (PRWEB) October 9, 2009 -- For the fifth consecutive year, Mr. Abul Huda Farouki, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ANHAM, LLC (www.anham.com) participated in the 2009 Annual Meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) (www.clintonglobalinitiative.org). Founded in 2005 by former President Clinton as a means to convene world and business leaders in a mobilization effort to address world issues, CGI's 2009 Annual Meeting was held September 22-25 in New York City. The main focus highlighted by President Clinton was the global economic challenges we currently face and how to help create inclusive financial systems that will benefit all members of society.

Mr. Farouki took part in working sessions designed to identify critical challenges, as well as provide partnership-building opportunities and implement commitments to action in areas including "Harnessing Innovation for Development", "Strengthening Infrastructure", "Developing Human Capital" and "Financing a Sustainable Future".

In an interview during the 4 day conference, Mr. Farouki stated, "It is time that we identify urgent areas of need and begin focusing on action-oriented results that will improve and secure the lives of our children and grandchildren."

As a member of Clinton Global Initiative, Mr. Farouki made a year-long commitment to action through the campaign for King's Academy (www.kingsacademy.edu.jo), a nonprofit, coeducational boarding school in Madaba, Jordan, that provides a comprehensive college-preparatory education through a challenging curriculum in the arts and sciences; an integrated co-curricular program of athletics, activities, and community service; and a nurturing residential environment. Mr. Farouki committed $100,000 in support of the founding of King's Academy. His commitment also supports endowed scholarships, which will ensure that qualified, underprivileged students from the region have access to the educational opportunities available at King's Academy and that the generations of leaders that emerge from King's Academy reflect the socioeconomic diversity of their society.

"It is an honor to take part in President Clinton's Initiative as it brings together the world's top leaders in a variety of areas who build relationships and collaborate to produce results in specific, targeted areas," stated Mr. Farouki.

In addition to the working sessions, Mr. Farouki and his wife, Samia, joined the Meeting's attendees at a reception at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

About King's Academy
King's Academy (www.kingsacademy.edu.jo) is the inspiration of H.M. King Abdullah II of Jordan. Reflecting on how important a role his own boarding school education at Deerfield Academy played in developing his character, values and abilities, His Majesty decided to bring the quality and ethos of that education to the region by founding a school modeled on Deerfield in Jordan.

A four-year (grades 9-12) boarding and day school, King's Academy will set a new standard for secondary education in the Middle East with an unprecedented educational approach: focus on academic excellence and progressive pedagogy, emphasis on community and personal values, and utilization of state-of-the-art facilities. In King Abdullah's own words, the Academy "will be a place where students will set aside social class, background and pretense to learn and grow together, while embracing personal and community values that include dignity, honesty, tolerance and compassion."
