Malena Brunner of American Prosthetics & Orthotics (APO) received her certification in orthotics from the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, & Pedorthics (ABC). ABC-certified individuals are considered leaders in the profession and provide the highest quality of patient care, along with excellence in research and orthopedic design. Brunner, who completed her residency requirements at APO’s University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics office, will continue seeing patients there, as well as at the Muscatine Ave. location, both in Iowa City. She also is working on completing her one-year residency in prosthetics.
Brunner is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a degree in athletic training. She completed her orthotic studies at Northwestern University’s Prosthetic-Orthotic Center (NUPOC), Chicago, in May 2007.
A native of Baxter, Brunner lives in North Liberty. She is a Hawkeye fan and enjoys playing outdoor sports.
