About the College Football Performance Awards:
The goal of the College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferments in college football. CFPA recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.

As many scholars have noted, CFPA eliminates the politics and biases that vitiate the college football awards process. Prominent sports ethicist and former football coach Gordon Marino writes, "The biases in the (balloting-based) awards process are behemoth." Past-President of the North American Society for the Sociology of Sport C. Richard King states, "CFPA demonstrates, in a reliable fashion, the top performers." And former Science Advisor to President Obama, Lawrence Krauss writes, "CFPA may add a deeper understanding and appreciation of the game."
