National award winning IT professor Dr. Nelson Granados of Pepperdine University joins Keytro.com's advisory board.

Sites like Keytro.com are very exciting to me, because they challenge the status quo with the use of technology. It has been fun working with the executive team to develop Keytro's innovative buyer/seller marketplace.

Keytro Corporation is pleased to announce that Dr. Nelson Granados, faculty member of Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business and Management, has joined its advisory board. Dr. Granados will regularly review company data, ensure the Keytro marketplace is operating efficiently, act as a sounding board for IT-related strategic decision making, and meet formally with Keytro's executive committee twice a year.

Professor of Electronic Marketplaces
Dr. Granados's award-winning research has covered marketplace evolutions from securities markets to airline ticketing, focusing heavily on how marketplaces react and change upon the introduction of IT.

Prior to his tenure at Pepperdine, Dr. Granados worked for IBM and Northwest Airlines. His experiences with the evolution of the airline travel industry from travel agents and ticket counters to online travel websites, ultimately sparked Dr. Granados's ongoing research of how IT-based systems alter the transparency of marketplaces.

"Nelson's research and guidance has helped us set a course toward significance" says Todd Bagley, CEO for Keytro Corporation. "His input helps us maintain focus on the Keytro marketplace, the speed and ease of interaction of buyers and sellers."

Internet as a Disruptive Force is Not a Surprise
"What is happening on the Internet is significant and important," says Dr. Granados. "The introduction of the printing press sent humanity into a couple centuries of chaos. The current disruption caused by the Internet is not a surprise, when information is freed by transparency and access, better decisions can be made faster, and at a much lower cost."

An Innovative Marketplace for the Business Community
Dr. Granados continues, "Sites like Keytro.com are very exciting to me, because they challenge the status quo with the use of technology. It has been fun working with the executive team to develop Keytro's innovative buyer/seller marketplace."

About Dr. Nelson Granados
Based on his work on the transparency of markets triggered by the Internet, Dr. Granados has received multiple awards, including the 2007-2009 Julian Virtue Professorship, the Best Publication of the Year by senior scholars of the Information Systems field, and the 2006 Best Paper of the Year awarded by the Journal for the Association for Information Systems. His work has also appeared in multiple IS journals, including the Journal of Management Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, IS and eBusiness Management, and in a chapter of the book Advances in the Economics of Information Systems
