The feature film "HOW I GOT LOST," written and directed by emerging filmmaker Joe Leonard, Winner of the 2007 NYU Richard Vague Production Grant, will make its Philadelphia Premiere at the Closing Night Screening of the FirstGlance Film Fest Philly 12 on Sunday, October 25th at 8:00 p.m. at Franklin Theater at the Franklin Institute, 222 North 20th Street, Philadelphia, PA.
"HOW I GOT LOST" (Feature Film, 87 min.) is the heartbreaking yet hopeful story of Andrew (Aaron Stanford) and Jake (Jacob Fishel), two friends dealing with loss amidst events bigger than them. Andrew, a reckless young banker, convinces his broken-hearted best friend, Jake, to leave New York with him after 9/11 to look for the things they've lost. They commandeer a cab to Philadelphia, where they "borrow" Andrew's mom's station wagon. But when their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, the truth comes out about the real motivation for the trip. On the road and in a small Ohio town, Jake encounters the people who will help him start over
(Rosemarie DeWitt, Lily Holleman), while Andrew runs away until he can't run any more.
Set in New York City after 9/11 and culminating in the New York City blackout of 2003, "HOW I GOT LOST" explores the reversals life surprises us with, and what it means to get lost and start over.
Writer/Director Joe Leonard will be attending the festival on Sunday, October 25th. Producers Massoumeh Emami and Sam Mestman, several crew members, Jill Flint and Gregory Konow from the New York-based cast and Golden Globe nominated composer Kaki King are also scheduled to attend.
