I can get any item that Carhartt makes, and in the future, I want to add more to my Web site, though the focus of FastBibs.com will always be the bib work overalls

When Lisa Hammel, founder of http://www.FastBibs.com, was just a young girl, her parents bought a general store in historic Pleasant Valley, West Virginia.
"My parents decided to call the store Pleasant Valley Grocery, and it had the feel of an old 'mom and pop' general store but it had so much more….we sold all types of fuel, had a hardware section jam packed with nails, pipe fittings, paints, rope and more," Hammel said.
Her family's business carried a large selection of pet and livestock feeds. They wore clean white aprons and tried to greet everyone as they entered. At the ripe old age of 10 she was promoted to penny candy case manager! "I am sure we didn't turn a profit in that department for many years … I ate all the profits!" she recalls. Hammel had to stand on a milk crate to slice lunch meat and run the cash register and in those days it was "all paper" white in the deli and brown bags for groceries.
Hammel's father opened an account with Carhartt and they special ordered as needed but after returning home from college she decided to stock the entire line and open Hammel's Clothing & Boot LLC.
Perhaps the most popular product was the Carhartt bib work overalls. "The Carhartt bib work overalls were a big part of my success, and that's what inspired me to create a Web site," Hammel said.
On Hammel's Web site, visitors will find the most popular styles of Carhartt bib work overalls, including insulated overalls, denim overalls and unlined overalls. In addition, Hammel offers the entire line of clothing and accessories from Carhartt.
"I can get any item that Carhartt makes, and in the future, I want to add more to my Web site, though the focus of FastBibs.com will always be the bib work overalls," Hammel said.
With the addition of a new blog at http://www.WorkClothingBlog.com, Hammel plans to discuss work clothing in relation to its uses.
"There are a lot of different kinds of work clothing that are becoming more mandatory in certain jobs, which I plan to discuss on the blog," Hammel said. "I also want to talk about the different materials from which work clothing is made, like double kneed denim and fire retardant material, which can be essential depending on the work discipline."
Unlike other retailers who often know little about their products, Hammel has specialized in Carhartt work clothing for several decades, and takes great pride in her knowledge and commitment to customer service.
