Amber Edwards Joins The Land Trust of Danbury

The Land Trust of Danbury appoints new volunteer coordinator.

Danbury, Conn. (PRWEB) October 14, 2009 -- The Land Trust of Danbury (www.landtrustdanbury.org) has announced the appointment of Amber Edwards to the position of Volunteer Coordinator. In this new position, Amber will develop a formal volunteer coordination program for The Land Trust.

Development of the program will entail establishing policies and procedures, outreach and recruiting initiatives and volunteer recognition programs. She will also play an active role in launching The Land Trust's gala fund-raiser, "Into the Woods", taking place October 23rd at Anthony's Lake House restaurant in Danbury.

"Amber is a passionate, enthusiastic volunteer with an impressive background. We're very fortunate to have her join our team", said Bill Montgomery, president. "The energy and fervor of our many volunteers will be well channeled under Amber's leadership", he continued.

"I admire what The Land Trust is trying to do and I'm so pleased to be able to volunteer my services to help to further the mission. I've wanted to be a part of this organization for some time", Amber said.

Amber resides in New Fairfield and is an avid hiker. With a background in recruiting, she earned her B.S. in Economics, concentrating in Management, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

The Land Trust of Danbury is a private, nonprofit organization that was incorporated in 1971. It is the only local land conservation organization in Danbury. The Land Trust was formed by residents concerned with protecting woodlands, fields, ponds, vernal pools and other wetlands and natural areas for the nature education they facilitate, the perpetual enjoyment their scenic views and hiking trails offer and the critical habitats they provide for area wildlife.

The Land Trust offers advice and counsel to individuals, families and business landowners on methods of land preservation and the possible tax benefits that may be realized. More information about The Land Trust of Danbury can be found on the LandTrustDanbury web site (www.landtrustdanbury.org).
