Chem-Trend, a global manufacturer of release agents and other process chemical specialties, announced today that it will be expanding to Asia and Europe the availability of its Chemlease® CPR semi-permanent release agent designed to prevent or reduce pre-release of composite parts from a mold. Chemlease® CPR also provides excellent release once the molded product has cured. Chemlease® CPR has been available in North America for over a year and has performed exceptionally well in field trials in Europe, where manufacturing conditions sometimes differ. The product will be made fully available there and in Asia before the end of the year.
Chemlease® CPR addresses Chem-Trend customer needs for use with larger, fiber reinforced plastic parts in markets such as marine manufacturing. Until now, the phenomenon of pre-release has presented challenges to large-part molders who must instead rely on waxes, requiring frequent reapplication. Chemlease® CPR effectively reduces the concern of pre-release in using a semi-permanent agent, a true breakthrough in the industry that results in significant savings in material costs, labor and potential part scrap.
