Cause marketing and social media company Causemedia Group, (http://www.causemediagroup.com) announced today the introduction of a new "Cause/Activism" track created for 2009 BlogWorld & New Media Expo in Las Vegas, which will provide a forum for non-profits and bloggers to learn more about how to use social media to spread awareness and raise funds.

"Today approximately 5 percent of the total $300 billion raised by non-profits here in the U.S. is donated online," said Chris Noble, president of Causemedia Group and organizer of the NameYourCause.com effort. "We believe with access to better education, information, and the right tools, we can significantly increase both of these figures."

eBay and PayPal are also sponsoring a Charity Smackdown Arcade at the show, to facilitate mutual engagement, highlighting non-profits and their causes while showcasing opportunities for bloggers to support cause-related campaigns.

"This is the first year we're offering a Cause/Activism track at BlogWorld," said Rick Calvert, CEO of BlogWorld. "It's great to see large companies like eBay and PayPal supporting these efforts, and demonstrating to the world how these powerful brands can drive cause related marketing initiatives."

As part of this overall effort to bring non-profits and bloggers together in order to provide each other learning and partnership opportunities, ten charities have been selected to attend the show for free, thanks to the voting site NameYourCause.com, which was created in partnership with Causemedia Group, BlogWorld, eBay and PayPal.
