New Children's Book Author Raises Money for Birmingham Non-Profit

'Night Night Birmingham', by Freddie Leonard Stewart III, offers highlights of Birmingham, Alabama attractions for kids. Proceeds from book sales help raise funds for Wylam's New Covenant Christian Center.

Birmingham, AL (PRWEB) October 15, 2009 -- Freddie Leonard Stewart III writes children's books to help families learn about kid friendly attractions in local communities. He has committed a portion of sales from his book, 'Night Night Birmingham,' to fund the purchase of new computers for the New Covenant Christian Center.

Freddie developed the book after reflecting on a trip to various attractions in Birmingham, Alabama. After a bedtime story about their visit with his two year old daughter, Sierra, Freddie noticed how she recalled the various places that they visited on the next day. Her reaction sparked the inspiration for 'Night Night Birmingham'.

'Night Night Birmingham' is a story about a young girl who shares her experience of visiting local attractions in Birmingham. The story features several major attractions in the Birmingham metro area including the Birmingham Zoo, Botanical Gardens, and Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame.

Freddie has volunteered as the computer technician for the New Covenant Christian Center (NCCC) for over five years. The New Covenant Christian Center is located in the Birmingham neighborhood of Wylam and serves the children and adults in the local area. The NCCC computer lab needs new computers to support child and adult learning initiatives.

Freddie presents a different approach to promoting kid-friendly attractions by incorporating them into the story. "My goal is to promote the local community by presenting a good story for children while sharing key information for parents. By dedicating proceeds from sales to the New Covenant Christian Center, we will be able to also support the local community."

About Freddie Leonard Stewart III:

Freddie is currently a graduate student in the Interactive Technology program at the University of Alabama. He works as a technical specialist for the University of Alabama's College of Commerce and Business Administration.

About the New Covenant Christian Center:
