The Assessment and Information group of Pearson, the education technology and services company, today announced the release of Spanish versions of two leading workforce evaluations: the Watson-Glaser II and the Workplace Personality Inventory (WPI). By offering Spanish versions of these research-based assessments, Pearson seeks to assist companies with the recruitment and retention of qualified Spanish-speaking workers.
By 2050, 25 percent of the U.S. population is estimated to be of a Hispanic ethnicity, and companies are looking to capitalize on this opportunity by working with Hispanic-owned businesses and employing Latinos to remain competitive. With the Spanish versions, Pearson expands the reach of organizations and businesses using the Watson-Glaser II, a critical-thinking and decision-making assessment, and the WPI, a personality-based screening that measures key work styles, as workforce selection and development tools.
To maintain the fidelity of the assessments' content, expert translators, with a specialization in psychological tests, assisted Pearson with the translation of all questions and instructions and ensured the Spanish translations were appropriate for any Spanish-speaker.

Additionally, hiring managers plan to aggressively recruit women and Hispanics in the next year, according to a survey conducted by CareerBuilder.com and America Online, with one-third of hiring managers expecting diverse candidates to comprise at least 25 percent of their new hires.
