WarrantyElephant Launches "MediElephant" a New Medication Reminder Service Inspired by WarrantyElephant User Rhonda Lewis, Founder of AllergySense
MediElephant is a free and secure medication expiry reminder service designed to inform our users that the life saving medications they or their loved ones require are about to expire and must be replaced.
Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) October 15, 2009 -- Recently, WarrantyElephant met with the founder of AllergySense.com, Rhonda Lewis, a WarrantyElephant user, who created a website for people with allergies. It's a comprehensive site, with copious amounts of information for parents, sibling, uncles, aunts, teachers, counselors and anyone else that comes in contact with people who have severe allergies.
Both Rhonda and her child have food allergies so she needs to keep epinephrine close at hand. In fact, Rhonda has a total of 6 auto injectors to keep track of. Recently, she realized that the device she provided to the school in case of an emergency had expired. Thus began the new 'Medicine Reminder' on Warranty Elephant (which has been aptly dubbed "MediElephant"). Rhonda realized that if MediElephant reminds her that the device is about to expire, she would know to send a replacement to school and ensure the safety of her child is never at risk due to an expired medication.
With that great inspiration from Allergy Sense, WarrantyElephant quickly went to work designing a free reminder service for all types of medications. The response received to our questions about MediElephant is that people need to keep track of medication expiry dates for aging parents, young children, the disabled or infirmed. They need to know where the medication is kept (medicine cabinet, kitchen, parents house, school, etc.), to whom it belongs and any special instructions about the medication. WarrantyElephant even went a step further and provided for additional email reminders for third parties involved with the care of loved ones which can be teachers, administrators, caregivers, family members or other important people.
All this can now be entered on WarrantyElephant.com. After signing in, just look for the "Medication List" button at the bottom of your item listing. Then just add in the medication and expiry date and get your reminder at 3 months, 1 month and 1 week before the medication expires.
