Halifax Insurance today announces the launch of its new insurance website 'Home Matters', which offers facts and advice relating to the home in a user friendly and interactive format designed and implemented by digital marketing agency iCrossing.
The move by Halifax into the social space is the first step in an ongoing project to create an engaged online community and is the first time the brand has undertaken a social media project. The user friendly, flash animated site contains a blog and competitions encouraging consumer involvement and video vox pops and an 'ask the expert' element to deliver advice concerning home security and domestic accidents.
iCrossing, which already runs Halifax's search engine optimisation activity, will help soft launch the new site to Halifax customers and encourage them to post home issues and protection related questions to be answered by resident expert Martyn Foulds, a Senior Claims Manager for Halifax Home Insurance. Other features include facts about the home and common problems such as flooding and DIY accidents as well as interesting 'did you know' statistics including, for example, 25% of people have had items fall to the floor due to washing machine or traffic vibrations.
