New Clients Take Control of Healthcare Costs; West Cost Expansion Planned

WellNet Healthcare, a healthcare technology company that enables companies to better manage their healthcare costs, today announced that it is on track to achieve 70 percent growth in 2009. The company also announced a roster of new clients and West Coast expansion plans.

In a year when the Kaiser Family Foundation reports that roughly 40 percent of employers are raising annual deductibles and the prescription drug payments, WellNet is partnering with companies to proactively manage healthcare expenses through its Point to Point Healthcare® (P2P) platform. To-date, more than 250 companies have saved $350 million with WellNet.

P2P leverages Rx and medical data to empower businesses with real-time insight into their current health plans and provides accurate, actionable information to manage their healthcare expenses as they fiscally manage every other aspect of their business. This increased visibility and information validation not only helps improve outcomes, but also lowers medical benefit costs substantially every year.

New clients driving WellNet's 70 percent growth in 2009 include: Bebe Stores, Brownsville School District, Dollar Financial, Men's Wearhouse, The Peddie School, The Scooter Store, Scranton School District, Skanska, University of New Haven, Viking Range and The Washington Times.

"Our expanding client base is proof that businesses are tired of the relentless year-over-year increases driven by insurance carriers and vendors who look to profit from employee/employer financial pain," said Keith Lemer, president of WellNet Healthcare.

To meet their continued growth, WellNet will open an office in the San Francisco Bay area in the first quarter of 2010. WellNet is headquartered in Bethesda, Md. and currently has offices in New York, Philadelphia, Trenton, N.J., San Antonio, Portland, Ore., and Atlanta.
