A Record Breaking Day at NouvEON's 6th Annual Golf Tournament

NouvEON's 6th Annual Golf Tournament raised $6000 for a college fund.

Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) October 16, 2009 -- In spite of the inclement weather, NouvEON had a record turnout for its 6th Annual Golf Tournament at Raintree Country Club in Charlotte, NC on Oct.5th. The annual tournament fundraises for Buddy's Fund, a college scholarship fund created in honor of Tristan "Buddy' Withers. He is a high school senior and son of a NouvEON employee who passed away suddenly four years ago to breast cancer.

The golfers enjoyed a spectacular day despite the weather conditions on the course. After the tournament concluded, there was a dinner sponsored by Liberty Mutual which had a record number of attendees, an awards ceremony, a silent and live auction and raffle prizes. The event raised over $6,300 for the scholarship fund due to the goodwill of NouvEON employees, clients and friends.

"Thanks to everyone's generosity, we were able to raise a record amount for Buddy's college scholarship fund," said T.J. Eberle, NouvEON's president and chief executive officer. "We have tremendous people at NouvEON that live our core values ever day," he added.

The event was made possible by 24 sponsors including Ravenwood Consulting, BB&T, Mecklenburg Times, NPower, Liberty Mutual, Anheuser Busch, and Coca Cola.

The tournament winners were announced during the dinner and awards ceremony. The winning team was led by Hal Hawisher, Jeff Savignac, Doug Ellis and Tom Wilson. With a record net of 49.3, this team was the first sub-50 score in NouvEON Golf Tournament history.

"We were very encouraged by the large turnout and good spirits of the golfers," said Jeff Hobensack, vice president of finance and administration. "I only hope that our future golf tournaments can rally this much enthusiasm and positive support for Buddy's Scholarship Fund," he added.
