Ascension Health, HCA, North Shore-LIJ Health System, and Lightspeed Research -The Foresight Group announce the formation of The Healthcare Consortium. The mission of the Consortium is to serve as a resource for human capital thought leadership in the healthcare workplace to better serve patients and communities.
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) October 15, 2009 -- Ascension Health, HCA, North Shore-LIJ Health System, and Lightspeed Research -The Foresight Group are pleased to announce the formation of The Healthcare Consortium. The mission of the Consortium is to serve as a resource for human capital thought leadership in the healthcare workplace to better serve patients and communities. The Healthcare Consortium brings together colleagues from hospitals of different sizes and areas of focus to share their interests and experiences and to learn what organizations are doing to improve the healthcare workplace. The Consortium has four focus areas: benchmarking, best practices, education and networking.
The Healthcare Consortium is extending an invitation to interested healthcare organizations to join us at the first annual dinner meeting. Organizations that have a minimum of 1000 employees and have either The Joint Commission or Det Norske Veritas accreditations are welcome to attend. The dinner will be held on November 2, 2009 at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. This date coincides with the ASHHRA Conference in Chicago. The dinner meeting begins with a welcome reception followed by Jane Lewis, HCA, presenting an overview of the Consortium including how and why the Consortium was formed. Alan Cooper, from North Shore-LIJ Health System, is the keynote speaker, and his presentation is titled, "From Avatars to Twitter: Engaging the Gamer Generation". The evening will wrap up with Marcia Silverberg, from Ascension Health, discussing the Consortium's goals and objectives, survey benchmark items, future educational webinars and networking opportunities. The evening promises to be a terrific opportunity to learn more about becoming a member of The Healthcare Consortium.
