Students: Twitter Scholarship Offers $14,000+ in Program Awards

CollegeScholarships.org announced the first inaugural 140 Scholarship. Students using Twitter may submit their essay via a 140 character Tweet.

Companies like Twitter and Google have grown significantly while much of the economy has soured.

America's students are increasingly overwhelmed by the rising cost of attending college. The average private tuition cost inside the United States is $25,143. To help students pay for school College Scholarships.org recently launched a scholarship for Twitter users.

While the economy has slumped, online innovation has been one of the few bright spots.

"If the United States is to remain a leader in the global economy it will need to leverage online innovation to build new products and services." Giovanna Villanueva, owner of CollegeScholarships.org, said. "Companies like Twitter and Google have grown significantly while much of the economy has soured."

Students may submit their application to The 140 Scholarship by answering the following question in a Tweet, "how can Twitter be used to improve the world?"

College Scholarships.org was founded in 1999 to help students find financial aid for college. The site offers a range of articles, research materials and blog postings for budget conscious students who need help paying for college.
