Hit singer-songwriters from Denmark will showcase their talent at The Cat Club in Los Angeles on Thursday evening October 29th. Award winning singer-songwriter Sascha Dupont, inspiring artists Safir and Anders Rhedin and songwriter extraordinaire Marcus Winther-John will captivate Los Angeles music fans with their critically acclaimed songs, musicianship and singing.

The night will open with inspiring artist Safir who moved to Los Angeles to share her passionate music with a new scene. Her music is as unpredictable as she is and her soul/ r&b/pop tunes will keep you moving long after you leave.

Next, Denmark`s beloved Sascha Dupont will perform. Sascha moved her musical career to Los Angeles after releasing several gold-selling albums, music directing hit TV and stage shows, backing international megastars and winning an astonishing array of awards. Sascha`s music is best described as acoustic pop. In addition, she is an extraordinarily talented pianist who continues to inspire enthusiastic audiences in Denmark.

The Play Danish night will close with songwriter extraordinaire Marcus Winther-John, who is a versatile writer with a knack for melodic hooks and lyrical catchphrases - in both Danish and English. His unique turn of phrase and talent for incorporating an artist's personality into words that touch, entertain and communicate have proven to be a valuable asset for his collaborators. Marcus has worked with multi-platinum rock artist Tim Christensen, Danish country diva Ester Brohus, Nikolaj Christensen & Michel Belli among other luminaries.

The Play Danish Showcase is inspired by Play Danish Day in Denmark which is a day of Danish Music broadcasts on radio, television and all other media channels in both English and Danish. The event is held by the Danish Songwriters Guild which encourages Danish artists to collaborate with US artists through their Los Angeles chapter. The Danish Songwriters Guild has an export program that sends members to destinations like the US (e.g. Los Angeles, Nashville and New York) as well as France, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Italy and the UK to write with other songwriters or to get inspiration for the production of new material.
Specifically, the guild has an annual trip to Los Angeles, where guild members network (using music and games) with movie industry people as well as write with local songwriters.
