Yachad Increases Community Service Awareness with the Introduction of a New Website

With the assistance of web design firm, Blue Water Media, Yachad launches a new website to increase awareness of its volunteer home repair efforts.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) October 17, 2009 -- Yachad (yah-had), a volunteer organization focused on home repair and community development for lower-income neighborhoods, launched a new website recently which highlights its volunteer opportunities and services. Yachad's unique model mobilizes resources in the Washington-area Jewish community to repair lower-income housing and revitalize commercial corridors. Yachad, which means "together" in Hebrew, fittingly brings together individuals, nonprofits, churches, and synagogues to expand its impact. With the help of Blue Water Media, Yachad now has a website that can mobilize Washington area volunteers and resources to spread good will throughout Washington, DC.

The new website presents Yachad in a very user-friendly layout. Users will find navigating the website a breeze. The site's main toolbar directs users to: volunteer opportunities, homeowner services, nonprofit services, news and events, our city film fest, and donate now. Each link leads to a host of subheadings that directs users to their area of interest. For example, the volunteer opportunities link leads users to opportunities for individuals, groups, teens and college students, and real estate and construction professionals. The news and events link leads to options including calendar, publications and press coverage, and a newly released blog. The blog is a new addition implemented by Blue Water Media to assist Yachad in updating its calendar and blog pages providing its users the "inside scoop" on Yachad's latest developments.

Blue Water Media designed the website to increase its visibility and functionality. The simple yet engaging background and color scheme promote ease of use and an enjoyable user experience. The homepage highlights Yachad's ongoing projects with a picture slideshow showing its volunteers at work in the DC area. The website also directs users to new opportunities via its easy to find "volunteer opportunities" and "donate" links. The partnership between Blue Water Media and Yachad has resulted in an innovative yet functional website which will surely promote volunteerism in the DC community.
