The Vendor Compliance Federation (VCF), a leading trade organization that brings together suppliers and retailers, will host VisionSync2009 on October 25-28 at the Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina in Tampa, FL. This highly anticipated, annual conference presents a rare opportunity for trading partners to meet face-to-face with colleagues, industry practitioners and executives.

According to Kim Zablocky, Founder of VCF, "In these tough, retail economic times, companies need to collaborate more than ever with their trading partners. Reduced staffs, reduced purchase orders, greater margin pressure, all lead to the question -- can you afford 1-4% revenue dilution caused by unintentional compliance errors?"

At VisionSync2009, trading partners will have the opportunity to attend educational sessions with large retailers like JCPenney, Costco, AAFES, American Eagle Outfitters, Nordstrom, PetSmart and others. Major suppliers will include Skechers, Adidas, Elizabeth Arden, Coty, Inc., Hanes Brands, Hasbro, Levi Strauss, Perry Ellis International, Polo Ralph Lauren and Samsonite.

Attendees will learn about cutting-edge technologies -- including RFID, wireless technologies, POS systems, planning, allocation and replenishment systems, and supply chain visibility -- and best practices that can reduce compliance errors and deductions and improve reverse logistics management.

For suppliers interested in boosting their compliance efforts to achieve 'preferred' vendor status, VisionSync2009 offers an ideal opportunity to get involved in major retailer initiatives for 2010. Sessions will include a half-day, vendor only breakout session during which JCPenney will seek supplier input on optimal ways to communicate multi-channel and multi-date orders. Vendors will hear about the strategic direction of other major retailers such as Family Dollar, Kohl's, Burlington Coat Factory, Lord & Taylor, Stein Mart and more.

VisionSync2009 will feature, for the first time, a retailer-supplier joint Open Forum. Trading partners can tackle issues surrounding compliance, deductions and supply chain disconnects in real time. In the past, vendor Open Forums have been heavily attended and highly productive. This year, retailers will be joining the conversation to foster true trading partner collaboration. Additionally, suppliers will have the opportunity to hold one-on-one meetings with retailers to establish relationships and resolve specific compliance issues that trigger deductions.

Alan Dabbiere, Chairman of AirWatch, a leader in enterprise-wide mobile device and WLAN management solutions, will provide the keynote address, 'The Impact of Wireless Technologies on the Retail Supply Chain: From Supplier to Consumer.' Other speakers include industry experts Brian Gibson, Professor of Supply Chain Management at Auburn University; Quin Dodd, former Chief of Staff at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission; Paula Rosenblum, Managing Partner at RSR Research and June Anderson of the Packaging Knowledge Group.

Educational sessions include:

  •     The fast changing Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act
  •     A panel discussion on shortage/overage deductions-- reconciling and recovering product returns
  •     The promise of "Vested Outsourcing" for achieving optimal supplier relationships
  •     Using RFID to improve supply chain efficiencies
  •      The benefits of store assortment localization and sustainable packaging programs
  •     GS 1 Standards and their use in the supply chain

No other conference offers such deep education and productive retail/supplier collaboration. Companies striving to gain a competitive advantage by aligning more closely with their trading partners should register quickly for VisionSync2009 while space is still available.

The conference will kick-off on October 25 with a golf outing sponsored by Compliance Networks and Motorola. Other sponsors include Stratix, Dynamic Worldwide Logistics, Foresight Corp., Fineline Technologies, Intertek, High Radius and SkyIT
