Girl 360, an online community and webzine for tween girls (http://www.girl360.net), and Frankies on the Park (http://www.frankiesonthepark.com), a teen fashion boutique in Lincoln Park, Chicago, will co-host Sarah VonderHaar, a talented musician and former contestant from America's Next Top Model, on Sunday, October 25, 2009 from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. The two-hour event, featuring an inspiring conversation, live concert and fashion show for girls and their moms, will take place at Frankies on the Park located at 2322 N. Sarah encourages girls to follow their dreams, be everything that they can be, and to express themselves whenever possible. "My mom is an English teacher and is very big on expressing yourself through words." Sarah says. "She really instilled that in me at such a young age."
The Lake Zurich, Ill., 22-year-old native says the authenticity of her lyrics come from everyday experiences. Sarah's music reflects a multitude of experiences in her life, from love lost and found, to the simplicity of childhood, to the wisdom and strength found in adversity. Her single, "All Mine" reminds listeners that true joy is found in the simple pleasures of every day life.
Sarah is currently signed with VerveLife Entertainment and will be featured in the Rock Band Network created by MTV Networks Harmonix group (http://www.vervelifetoday.com).
"Every great woman started out as a great girl, one who discovered her own superpowers after encountering other super- cool female role models," notes Girl360 Co-founder Anne Ream.
Girl360 and Frankies on the Park believes empowering tween girls and introducing them to inspirational role models can truly help to shape a tween's identity and instill confidence and authenticity in young girls today.
