"Ashley Brockett's Violin Lessons" Launches New Youth Orchestra to Further Serve Students' Needs

"Ashley Brockett's Violin Lessons" is a revolutionary concept for the area: a violin teacher willing to drive to you. The student base has grown to such that Ashley has started an orchestra with her students, providing them with an additional opportunity to utilize their new skills. This orchestra will be making their debut with performances at retirement centers this holiday season.

Puyallup, WA (PRWEB) October 25, 2009 -- "Ashley Brockett's Violin Lessons" was launched over a year ago with the simple phrase of "I drive to you." Today, the demand for these lessons has grown to require a short wait list for some students wanting prime lesson times. However, the 25-30 students that are in lessons have a special opportunity: to play together in an orchestra with their peers.

Violin lessons are available in Ashley's studio in the Manitou Community Center, or in the comfort of your own home. Most students choose to have their lessons at home, as it allows parents to continue going about their daily tasks while their child gets his or her violin lesson. This option is increasingly popular with home-school families, or large families that don't want to take all their kids to the lessons.

"Ashley has been a great teacher for my girls. We appreciate her driving to our house and the monthly group lessons that are included in the cost of tuition. She is a very nice and encouraging teacher." -- satisfied student mother, Liz Wesenberg

Ashley strives to offer a quality experience for your money, including monthly group classes in the cost of tuition. These monthly group classes encourage students to get to know each other, help build community, and let them connect with others' trials and successes. In short, they're a lot of fun! For specific lesson information, visit www.ashleybrockett.musicteachershelper.com/lesson-details. Now there's one new opportunity for her students.

This youth orchestra furthers the development of community in the studio that Ashley is working on achieving, while allowing her students to explore different music types. Lesson music consists largely of the Suzuki method, but orchestra is about fun.

"We're starting off with fun and easy holiday classics in the 'Christmas Kaleidoscope.' This book is great, because it allows for harmonization, even with only one instrument type. Furthermore, it's easy to increase the difficulty level for more advanced students, or even simplify a part further for a beginner. Each part can be tailor-made for the student." -- Ashley Brockett

To increase student ownership of the orchestra, Ashley has encouraged students and parents to come up with different names. Members voted on them last week, and decided on "South Hill Chamber Orchestra ". The orchestra will be playing their first performances at three retirement centers this holiday season to spread the happy cheer.
