I am thrilled to be joining one of the hottest early stage tech companies at such a pivotal moment in the evolution of cloud computing
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 19, 2009
Boomi, the market and technology leader for on-demand integration, today announced it has hired Scott Crawford, formerly of IBM and Ascential Software, as its Vice President of Sales. Scott will be based in the company's San Francisco offices and will have responsibility for the company's direct and indirect sales channels worldwide.
Boomi is the creator of AtomSphere, a complete on-demand integration service that enables companies to link any combination of SaaS and on-premise applications together without the burden of installing and maintaining integration software or appliances. With its "connect once, integrate everywhere®" approach, AtomSphere has become the solution of choice among major SaaS vendors and other service providers. More than 25 independent system integration companies are now building on the AtomSphere platform.
Crawford brings a wealth of sales and sales management experience working in both early stage and large corporate environments as well as a deep understanding of the integration software industry. Prior to his tenure with Ascential and IBM, Crawford drove significant revenue growth in various sales management roles for i2 Technologies, Inforte and Cambridge Technology Partners. He also brings significant international experience having led IBM's integration software sales teams throughout Asia and in southwest Europe, based in Shanghai and Paris respectively.
"Scott brings the perfect blend of entrepreneurial and large corporate sales experience to complement the management team at Boomi," said Bob Moul, CEO of Boomi. "Our growth to date has been largely through word of mouth and technical marketing. We are excited to have Scott on board and look forward to accelerating our growth and expansion under his leadership."
The company continues to compile an impressive roster of customers, partners and awards - including the software industry's CODiE award for best on-demand platform, an honor most recently held by salesforce.com. AtomSphere's popularity is driven by its pure cloud multi-tenant architecture, its visual approach to integration that does not require coding, its elegant solution for behind-the-firewall integration and its pay-per-connection pricing model that finally aligns integration costs with SaaS application costs.
"I am thrilled to be joining one of the hottest early stage tech companies at such a pivotal moment in the evolution of cloud computing," said Scott Crawford. "This is absolutely the case of the right solution at the right time. I look forward to working with Bob and the rest of the Boomi team to continue to drive the future of the SaaS and cloud computing industry."
Scott earned his degree in Information Systems from James Madison University and his MBA from the Darden School of Business Administration, University of Virginia.
