Impact Unlimited, a leading provider of brand communications for events, meetings, and exhibits worldwide, has earned a Sizzle Award from Exhibitor Magazine for a dynamic interactive game created for Vifor International Inc. The Sizzle Awards are given in recognition of excellence in tradeshow exhibit promotions. The "Fabulous Iron Game" increased Vifor International Inc.'s booth traffic by 70 percent from the previous year, drawing 1,800 participants.
Impact received the honor for its interactive game show program entitled:"Fabulous Iron Game" for Vifor International Inc.'s Ferinject injectable iron compound at the 2008 European Renal Association- European Dialysis and Transplant Association congress in Stockholm, Sweden. Impact's program was devised for the sole purpose of educating physicians on the advantages of low-dose, injectable iron therapy.
The Ferinject "Fabulous Iron Game" was an elegantly simple, proof of concept demonstration that employed an interactive metaphor: the user had to move various physical irons across a table that provided physical resistance and electronic scoring depending on their features. The "old iron" represented "powerful, but hard to control," the "small iron," represented "easier to use, but not powerful enough," and the "Ferinject-branded iron" represented the "proper mix of safety and efficacy."
Attendees walking the show floor were immediately drawn in by the Las Vegas style Ferinject "Fabulous Iron Game" signage and a small crowd of vocal, enthusiastic participants in the "game." Contestants laughed and cheered as they tried to move the various irons while listening to the live host. The host asked participants to move the "old iron" across the table, which they found surprisingly difficult due to a number of powerful magnets hidden under the table surface. Participants really needed to push to guide the iron to its goal. The surprised participants also received an electronic score above the target range - a reminder that traditional iron products were difficult to administer, and could deliver levels above the recommended dosing-a safety concern.
Contestants went on to move the second modern-style, "small iron," and were met with more resistance and a score below the recommended range, serving as a reminder that modern oral iron options deliver iron below the recommended dose-an efficacy concern.
Finally contestants picked up the "Ferinject-branded iron," finding no resistance from the table, and sliding their iron effortlessly to the target. The electronic score was also in the target range -signifying that Ferinject was not only easier to use than other iron deficiency medications, but also delivered a safe, effective, targeted dose of injectable iron.
