DataFort has announced the launch of Bytebaq, its new fixed-price, offsite data backup service for desktop and laptop computers. The retail price for the service is £35/year making it the least expensive offering in a very competitive market.

Unlike much low-cost backup, Bytebaq is a professional quality service

DataFort has announced the launch of Bytebaq, its new fixed-price, offsite data backup service for desktop and laptop computers. The Bytebaq service is designed to be a fully automated solution requiring no setup. After registration the service takes care of the rest, backing up all restorable content on a computer to high security EU compliant data centres. Data is encrypted before transmission, so it's totally secure. Finally, the feature that sets Bytebaq apart from competing products is that while other services charge by the amount of data selected for backup, Bytebaq costs a fixed price per year, giving the licensee the ability to backup everything on their computer without needing to worry about the cost. The service includes a 30 day risk free trial so customers can test the product without risk!

Though Bytebaq can operate without configuration, backing up everything on a computer, if preferred, users can override the total backup feature and customise backups to save only selected data. The service also has other advanced features like bandwidth customisation. This allows data to trickle offsite throughout the day in a way that will not impact other Internet traffic.

Critical data is stored away from a client's premises, so Bytebaq provides peace of mind. In the event of equipment theft a customer does not need to worry that the backup has been stolen along with other computer equipment. Data recovery is simple and can be achieved with a few mouse clicks.

"Unlike much low-cost backup, Bytebaq is a professional quality service," said DataFort Director Marcie Terman. "It's built on the same technology we've used to backup the critical data of customers both in the UK and USA for the past ten years. The technology is tried and tested and rock steady. "

"While other offsite backup companies charge monthly by data volume, with prices that mount over time as the amount of data on a computer increases, Bytebaq provides high security, fully automated business-class backup and data recovery for a fixed price per year, regardless of how much data exists on the computer. Unlimited, automated bank-grade data backup costs just £35 a year, that's £2.91 a month - or about half the price of an order of fish and chips!"

The service is available from today and those interested in testing the service can start a service trial by downloading the software from: http://www.bytebaq.com/secure/bytebaqsetup1.0.exe. Copy and paste the authorisation code SXGI4-XUJR4-9OM3Y-UGWYY to generate a 30 day trial account.

Bytebaq is also available to companies wishing to resell the service, either bundled with other software or as a boxed product. Further information can be had from contacting the channel management team at DataFort's Guildford offices or by applying to channel (at) datafort (dot) com.
