Yellow Ribbon Fund really wants to provide the wounded with a positive distraction--lifting their spirits--which is why they asked us to perform. We couldn't be happier to help.

Singer/Songwriter Kim Cameron and her band Side FX will perform on November 11th at 6:00PM at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. As Cameron and the band are gearing up for the release of their first single, "Timeless" which goes to radio November 3, the show is a welcomed addition to a soon to be packed tour schedule. Cameron, an avid supporter of service men and women stated, "This has always been one of mine and the bands goals. We wanted to do something for the men and women who do so much for us."
The performance, which is sponsored by The Yellow Ribbon fund, is close to Kim's heart after writing a song called, My Hero that was featured on her previous CD, Kim received dozens of pictures and video from actual service men and women that she ultimately featured in the video. Kim and the band are currently out spreading the word about the Yellow Ribbon Fund and exactly what they accomplish for the injured servicemen and women.
The Yellow Ribbon Fund was created in early 2005 to assist our injured service members and their families while they recuperate at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval Medical Center. Their mission began when the father of an injured Marine introduced two of our volunteers to staff at Walter Reed and Bethesda Naval and they told them what needs were not met by other donors. In almost four years contributions made through the Yellow Ribbon Fund have provided the following for injured service members and their families: over 1,000 free rental cars spanning 45,000 free rental car days; over 14,000 free taxi rides; over 6,300 free hotel room nights; and 43 families have used our four apartments for almost 5,000 nights; and hundreds of free tickets to sporting games, concerts and plays, and hundreds of lunches, dinners, golf games, duck and goose hunts, fishing trips, and other activities. The wounded warriors receive over 85% of every dollar that is contributed through the Yellow Ribbon Fund.
The band hopes to raise awareness for the organization leading up to the performance that elicits donations. They are planning a performance that will bring the injured and their families into an entertainment oasis for few hours.
