The Institute for Health Technology Transformation announced today that Kaiser Permanente will be speaking at this years Fall Health IT Summit on November 4-5, 2009 in Beverly Hills.
Their presentation entitled, "The Kaiser Permanente PHR Experience" will be covering the principles and approach used, the features delivered, and the survey and usage data from their own Personal Health Record experience.
Attendees will be able to understand how the overarching ethical principles drive the implementation decisions at a high level. In addition, the presentation will list a variety of ways that one can involve patients/consumers and physicians/clinicians in the planning and roll out, as well as explaining the difference between the myths and realities of patient-physician email.
Speaking on behalf of Kaiser Permanente will be Dr. Kate Christensen. Dr. Christensen is the Medical Director for the Internet Services Group, which is the department that runs the PHR website for Kaiser Permanente. She also serves as the Medical Director for the Kaiser Permanente Martinez Hospice Program. She is a member of the Northern California Institutional Review Board, and has been designated the National Physician Lead for Patient-Centered Care by the Care Management Institute. She is double-board certified in Internal Medicine and in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
