With TimeMAPS, district administrators can give their students the best chance possible to become financially responsible adults

To help districts meet state graduation requirements, Realityworks, Inc., developer of life-changing, interactive educational products, announces the release of the TimeMAPS Money Management and Life Skills Program. TimeMAPS personal finance software is designed to help teach students important financial literacy topics through a complete curriculum.

A 2008 survey reported that only one-third of parents teach their teens how to balance a checkbook, and that even fewer explain how credit card interest and fees work. To ensure students understand these important concepts, TimeMAPS interactive software engages students in real-life financial lessons. Covering topics such as managing debt and credit, living on a budget and planning for retirement, these lessons prepare students for successful money management as adults.

TimeMAPS software provides districts with a cost-effective solution for teaching students tough personal finance topics. Furthermore, TimeMAPS comes fully equipped with a variety of interactive curriculum resources, requiring minimal preparation by educators.

"With TimeMAPS, district administrators can give their students the best chance possible to become financially responsible adults," said Timm Boettcher, president of Realityworks. "This product is the first of its kind to offer a semester-long personal finance curriculum designed to engage students in real-time financial simulations that prepare them for the future."

TimeMAPS features 13 themes with 54 lessons and more than 140 interactive examples of personal finance concepts, meeting Jump$tart Coalition National Standards and graduation requirements in 20 states. It uses the most recent U.S. financial data provided by the federal government and is updated annually for all U.S. regions.

The program also comes with a student resource CD to extend learning beyond the classroom. The CD contains worksheets, reviews, quizzes and projects that students can use to reinforce financial literacy lessons being taught from the curriculum. In addition, the program includes a curriculum CD and online assessment that minimize paperwork for educators, allowing more time for instruction.

TimeMAPS is offered through a one-year site license, which includes the software with Life Simulator, curriculum CD, student resource CD and online testing system.

Starting at less than $1,000, pricing structures can be modified to meet the needs of both small and large school districts. Discounts on multi-year site licenses also are available.
