FiscalReps Announces Details of Insurance Premium Tax Forum

FiscalReps has today announced the details and speaker line-up for its fourth annual Insurance Premium Tax Forum, to be held next month.

London, England (PRWeb UK/PRWEB ) October 22, 2009 -- FiscalReps has today announced the details and speaker line-up for its fourth annual Insurance Premium Tax Forum, to be held next month.

The event will take place on the morning of November 6, 2009 at Trinity House, Trinity Square, London EC3. A range of independent experts from the insurance and tax sectors will offer insights into the latest practical strategies for managing Insurance Premium Tax compliance. Delegates will also hear updates on the current legal and regulatory environment and the impact of forthcoming legislation.

Chris James, chief executive of FiscalReps, says: "The large turn-out at last year's IPT Forum showed that insurers, brokers and clients are increasingly concerned about the implications of poor insurance tax compliance.

"In the past twelve months scrutiny of IPT and parafiscal tax management has only grown, so this year's Forum will provide timely guidance on the latest best practices for achieving compliance in a manageable and measureable way."

Speaking this year will be Julian Oldaker, head of tax at ACE, who will discuss the challenge of maintaining tax compliance for a multinational business. He will address the central question, 'Is 100% compliance ever achievable in the current regulatory environment?'

Nick Warner, VAT and IPT specialist at PKF, will consider what changes are in the pipeline as a result of HMRC's plans to amend the law on IPT, following its failed appeal against Homeserve before the IPT Tribunal.

Tim Yeates, a senior executive with Axco Insurance Information Services, will focus on the importance of harnessing information available in the market and how interpretation and application are key to making it work.

Philip Chaston of Great Lakes Reinsurance will offer practical advice on how to resolve the day-to-day challenges of translating tax compliance theory into practice.

FiscalReps' founder Mike Stalley will discuss the challenges imposed on insurers by the economic crisis and consider the outlook for 2010. Meanwhile, colleague Chris Jelley will lead an interactive session on FiscalReps' plans for an 'On-line Forum' for use by anyone with an interest in licensing, regulatory and tax-related topics.

The day will begin with registration at 8.45am and finish with a networking lunch, expected to conclude by 1.30pm.

Spaces are limited. To book, contact Gillian Perry: +44 (0)1483 813840.
