Networking Event to Support Philadelphia's Women Against Abuse
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) October 20, 2009 -- The Philadelphia office of McCarter & English, LLP, is a co-sponsor of The National Association of Women Lawyer's (NAWL) Night of Giving networking event to support Women Against Abuse, a leader in advocacy and direct services to victims of domestic violence in Philadelphia. In addition, women attorneys from McCarter's Philadelphia and Newark office will be attending the event to further show their support of the organization and bring gift donations from the "Wish List" of Women Against Abuse on behalf of the firm. The event is to be held on October 22, 2009 at the Morris' Café of Duane Morris, LLP, in Philadelphia.
"We are happy to be able to contribute to such a deserving organization in our community," said Barbara Gotthelf, a Philadelphia-based partner at McCarter who is involved in NAWL. "McCarter's women attorneys have been members of NAWL for several years. We value its mission and appreciate this opportunity to give back to women and children in need. We look forward to participating."
NAWL's "Nights of Giving" was recently introduced as a new national series to bring women attorneys and women in business together for an evening of networking, while at the same time working together to complete a philanthropic project with a local charity whose mission it is to empower women and girls. Men are also invited and encouraged to participate. The overall goal is to bring people together to do a good deed for those in need.
Events are scheduled in the spring and fall at various cities throughout the country. Goals of the event are developed in conjunction with the chosen charity.
