Punk-pop sensation Avril Lavigne opens up about her career, music and future plans in a new interview with Savvy Magazine, a national publication that covers beauty, style and pop culture.

The November 2009 issue of Savvy Magazine features a cover and interview with multi-platinum recording artist Avril Lavigne. In a six-page fashion spread and interview, the singer revealed the new sound of her upcoming album. "This record is the least amount of pop-rock I've ever written or recorded," Lavigne said. "It's more stripped down, more raw, more acoustic. This record is really about the music and the songs, the quality and the vocal performance and capturing the emotion."

On the heels of her recently announced split from husband of three years Deryck Whibley, Avril also discussed her current and future career ventures, including her fashion line, Abbey Dawn; her newly released fragrance, Black Star; and her desire to work more in the film industry.
