Campus Direct will use the funds to develop marketing initiatives associated with online education. First, the company is developing a student recruitment business fueled by an unbiased, proprietary distance learning "decision engine." The decision engine will match prospective students with the program that best meets their personal situations, educational objectives, and professional goals.
Second, the company is developing an online, community-based student retention solution to help colleges and universities increase graduation rates for online educational programs.
The company also has entered a joint venture with Recognition Media, parent company of the Webby Awards, to create t he Discus Awards, a program that honors all-around high school students. To win a Discus Award, a high school student must excel in three of ten select attributes, including community service, academics, environment, arts, faith, and more.
