Introducing OpenDNS Enterprise and OpenDNS Deluxe. Designed to meet the needs of organizations of all sizes without the cost and complexity of traditional security services.

OpenDNS Enterprise is the perfect solution for NVA. I deployed the service, including its best-in-class Web content filtering, phishing protection and malware protection at 120 locations in just hours and can manage all locations from one centralized Web based dashboard.

OpenDNS, provider of the world's leading Internet navigation and security services that make networks safer, faster, smarter and more reliable, today announced the immediate availability of OpenDNS Enterprise and OpenDNS Deluxe, the newest members of the OpenDNS family of services.

Since 2006 when the OpenDNS service was first made publicly available, the company has seen heightened demand for features that are designed to meet the needs of businesses and larger organizations, as well as a more feature-rich version tailored for households and smaller businesses. The services announced today are delivered in response to customer demand and build upon OpenDNS's award-winning, cloud-based comprehensive Web content filtering and security services, rock-solid reliable DNS platform and intelligent Internet navigation features.

"NVA has more than 120 locations across the United States and deploying an appliance at each one for Web content filtering simply was not an option, but leaving the networks at each location unsecured wasn't an option either," said Aaron Brown, Network Administrator for National Veterinary Associates, leading owner of veterinary hospitals. "OpenDNS Enterprise is the perfect solution for NVA. I deployed the service, including its best-in-class Web content filtering, phishing protection and malware protection at 120 locations in just hours and can manage all locations from one centralized Web based dashboard."

OpenDNS Enterprise is a new service geared toward larger organizations, from mid-sized businesses to Fortune 500 enterprises with locations around the world, and also including K-12 school districts, libraries, colleges and universities. Leveraging the same DNS platform that more than 15 million people rely on today and including all of the features and functionality of OpenDNS Basic, OpenDNS Enterprise makes it easier for a team of network administrators to share management of an OpenDNS account and specify varying filtering and access levels for groups or individuals within an organization. Notable features included in OpenDNS Enterprise include - Malware Site Protection to secure networks from online threats, Delegated Administration to allow multiple administrators across multiple locations to administer accounts, Block-Page Bypass functionality, which makes OpenDNS cloud-based Web content filtering more flexible and allows administrators and trusted individuals to bypass filtering when necessary, and more comprehensive reporting and statistics offerings, including a daily PDF report of network activity delivered via email. For a full list of new features, visit OpenDNS's Web site.

OpenDNS Enterprise is particularly fitting for any organization currently overpaying for Web content filtering and security services, and for any organization with multiple locations around the world, for which it would be cost-prohibitive and overly time-consuming to deploy and manage appliances at each site. OpenDNS can be deployed in hours across multiple locations, at a fraction of the cost and complexity of traditional security services like Websense and Blue Coat.

OpenDNS Deluxe is a new service designed as an upgrade from OpenDNS Basic, the existing free version, for households and smaller businesses and organizations. OpenDNS Deluxe removes the advertisements from the OpenDNS experience and gives parents and other account holders more tools to better control and secure their network. OpenDNS Deluxe provides customization options that enable users to communicate with users on their network, an increased Whitelist capacity for users looking to restrict Web access to only pre-selected Web sites and the archiving of stats about network traffic - including a list of total domains and blocked domains visited - for an extended period of time.

OpenDNS remains thoroughly committing to continuing to foster and improve OpenDNS Basic, the service used by millions of people around the world today.

"We're excited to announce the immediate availability of OpenDNS Deluxe and Enterprise to customers everywhere. For the first time, customers have a real, cloud-based alternative to the expensive and complex products from vendors like Websense and BlueCoat." said OpenDNS CEO Nand Mulchandani, "OpenDNS Deluxe and Enterprise are already in production at customer sites around the world and have demonstrated real improvements in performance, reliability and scalability compared to traditional, appliance-based products. We're excited to welcome new customers to experience the difference."
