Last month, just two years after its public beta release, financial management service Mint.com was acquired by accounting software giant Intuit for $170 million. Intuit has a long history of acquiring startup financial and tax service software and related business service companies. In 2005, Intuit acquired one of the first and most successful incorporation services, MyCorporation.com, for $20 million from original founders Philip and Nellie Akalp. Started in their home with a simple idea and a one page Web site in 1997, MyCorporation.com had grown in eight years to a 5,500 square foot commercial office space and more than 25 employees when Inuit purchased the company.

Today, the attorney husband and wife team are the Co-Founders of CorpNet™, a new incorporation service. Their entrepreneurial spirit and love of business, along with a deep-rooted passion to help others succeed and experience great success, led them to form the new incorporation service. The Akalps have helped more than 100,000 small and medium businesses get their start, laying the proper groundwork that allows them to grow and potentially be acquired by another company.

"Many entrepreneurs start a business with the goal of growing it to a position for sale to another," said CorpNet™ Co-Founder, Philip Akalp. "Hundreds of new businesses start daily in this country, but few will make it. Nellie and I know first-hand the passion and dedication required to build a business to the point where the big players will notice you. Whether its incorporating a business or forming an LLC, getting it done right and getting it done fast is critical. Akalp added, "Doing it right means having the proper documentation from the start...so get your ducks in a row!"

For entrepreneurs, establishing a legal entity may be important for many reasons such as liability protection, tax advantages and enhanced credibility. Many people avoid taking steps to incorporate or form a limited liability entity because they believe it will be costly to do so. Not taking those steps, however, may be the costliest decision of all in the long run. Even in the short run, using CorpNet™ Incorporation Services to handle the paperwork can keep initial costs to a minimum and save time, allowing the new business owner to focus on the business, not bureaucracy.

"Phil and I get extremely excited and fulfilled when we can help others realize their goals and dreams as we have," said Nellie Akalp, CEO of CorpNet™. "This satisfaction drives us further in our business to help entrepreneurs easily create and maintain their legal entities with service that is fast, reliable, affordable and guaranteed." She added, "We feel so strongly about helping others that we even offer free informational guides on our website, written by our business attorneys, available for download. These guides offer in depth information to entrepreneurs for Starting a Business, Filing a DBA, Incorporating a Business or Forming an LLC."
