New AquaLipo™ Body Contouring Process Allows Gentler & More Precise Sculpting
Dr. Roger Bassin teaches advanced liposuction techniques to doctors.
He says AquaLipo™ will make conventional liposuction obsolete.
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) October 23, 2009 -- "Liposuction as we know it will become obsolete," says Dr. Roger Bassin, who trains physicians in advanced body contouring procedures. "It's a bold statement but it's true. Liposuction is the most popular cosmetic procedure in the world, but there is room for significant improvement." Dr. Bassin is a cosmetic surgeon and medical director of the Bassin Center for Plastic Surgery in Orlando, FL. He is the first in the country to combine the benefits of laser fat melting and fluid fat removal in a process he calls AquaLipo™.
Conventional liposuction techniques and even the newer "fat-melting" procedures still require aggressive back and forth motions to aspirate, or suction the fat out. This trauma to the patient can often times can lead to bleeding, nerve damage, lumps, bumps and divots.
According to Dr. Bassin, the AquaLipo™ process allows doctors to sculpt body areas more precisely, with more predictable results. Dr. Bassin is in the process of instructing qualified physicians in the next level of body contouring with AquaLipo™. He says that in many cases the new process may even cost less than conventional liposuction because it can be done under local anesthesia.

After melting the fat in the targeted areas, Dr. Bassin uses a device with a high-powered fluid jet to navigate through the internal tissue, a process that until now required significant manual force from the surgeon. This process allows the surgeon to use only about 10% of the energy typically required for fat removal, resulting in a gentler and less traumatic experience for the patient. The system allows the suction cannula to move freely within the fat compartment without causing damage to the fat or any of the surrounding structures. The high-powered stream flushes out the fat cells after they have been loosened up.
With Aqualipo™, recovery is minimal and trauma to nerves and blood vessels is virtually eliminated. The attachments between the deeper structures and the skin are preserved which aids in a more naturally tightened and contoured result. Skin is smoother, recovery time is minimal and since the removed fat cells are largely intact, they can provide excellent results when used for facial fillers in place of synthetic materials. Dr. Bassin's technique for facial fat grafting is called NaturalFill™
