Parents who need childcare for their children ages 5-12 on selected days over the coming months can turn to the White Plains Family YMCA, which offers a full-day program for kids in Kindergarten-5th grade. The Y has coordinated its childcare program with the White Plains School District student calendar. Participants will enjoy arts, crafts, swimming, sports, and many other activities the YMCA offers.
"Parents can feel confident that their child is spending the day in a caring, supervised and safe environment," said Helene Mogridge, Vice President and Executive Director of the White Plains Family YMCA. The YMCA is the largest provider of childcare services in Westchester County.
The Vacation Camp program is offered at the White Plains Family YMCA located at 250 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains. Vacation Camp days are run from 8:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
Care will be available on various dates throughout the school calendar year beginning in November. These dates are: Nov. 3, 11, 25, 27; Dec. 24, 28, 29, 30, 31; Jan. 18; Feb. 5, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19; March 29, 30, 31; April 1, 2, 30; and May 31.
The fees for Vacation Camp are $55.00 per day for White Plains Family YMCA Members and $75 per day for non-members. An afternoon snack will be provided and participants are required to pack a lunch.
