Digital marketing and SEO agency, Guava A/S, have announced that the Chief Executive Manager Brian Mertz Pedersen resigns from his position as the Managing Director of Guava A/S with effect from today. The position is taken up by the present Chief Operating Officer, Nils Carlsson. However, Brian Mertz Pedersen will remain a consultant for a period of six months during which period he will assist in assigning the duties to Nils Carlsson.
After six years' fast developments in the field of the search market, stock exchange listing followed by company acquisitions and the merger of 12 companies, Brian Mertz Pedersen has decided that it is time move on and seek out new career opportunities.
Nils Carlsson joined Guava in 2006 from a position as marketing director at Telenor AB, Sweden. In Guava Nils Carlsson has primarily been responsible for the day-to-day management in Sweden and during the latest year, he has participated in the operation of Guava in Sweden, Denmark and the UK.
Brian Mertz Pedersen's decision to resign from his position in Guava is taken in accordance with the Board of Directors and the Chairman of the Board, Ole Sigetty.
The Chairman of the Board of Guava A/S, Ole Sigetty, said:
"The Board of Directors supports Brian Mertz Pedersen's decision to resign from his position and leave Guava. Brian has been a very competent and dynamic Managing Director of the Company. He started up the Company from the very beginning and has participated extremely successfully in the developing Guava into an international company. Now it is time to further consolidate the business both in Scandinavia and in the European markets. With his 13 years' executive experience, Nils Carlsson is a perfect choice. Over the latest 3 years, I have come to know Nils as a highly respected and dedicated leader, who achieves the results he decides to achieve. I am convinced that Guava will achieve fine results with Nils as the CEO"
The Managing Director of Guava A/S, Brian Mertz Pedersen, said:
"I have loved my time with Guava, but after almost six years, I have decided that is now time to seek out new career opportunities. The development of Guava A/S started with the establishment of Danmark Online and the acquisition of Notabene.net, when we were driven by enthusiastic entrepreneurship. At a rapid pace, we developed the company from 3 to 139 employees, which was breaking new ground in the field of search engine optimisation and online marketing. Notabene.net was furthermore the first company in the sector to become listed on the Stock Exchange and the Company's turnover has increased from zero six years ago to DKK 177 million in the latest financial year."
"Notabene.net continued being the market leader for many years and when competition grew worse, we acted on the offensive. With the merger of 12 companies into Guava A/S, we created the largest online marketing company in Scandinavia. I am happy that I have been part of this process. But after this six years' period, I think that I have to invest my energy into new challenges. However, I will continue to monitor the development of Guava closely and keep my present shareholding in the Company as I still have great confidence in this sector and believe that Guava will survive the present socio-economic crisis and come out of it strengthened."
