Creathor Venture and Innovacom provide Berlin-based mobile social community aka-aki with expansion capital.

Aka-aki runs an internet-based mobile community and has developed software for mobile devices, which enables people to find others with similar interests by using proximity detection technologies and get in touch with them. Hereby, aka-aki transfers virtual social networking from the web into the real world.

With the new financing round of several million Euros the company is well equipped for further expansion. Besides previous investor Creathor Venture, Innovacom, the leading French VC fund in IT, is joining the round. The aka-aki management team remains the biggest shareholder.

Stefanie Hoffmann, co-founder and CEO of aka-aki, is excited about the repeated commitment of lead investor Creathor Venture in particular: "This shows that we have more than lived up to the expectations. On our path, we have always received great support from Creathor Venture, including the initiation and realization of the new founding round."

"Together with Innovacom we now have two strong partners for aka-aki's growth, which means an enormous impetus for the future", says aka-aki co-founder and CEO Gabriel Yoran.

Christian Stein, Investment Manager at Creathor Venture is very satisfied with aka-aki's favorable development since the seed round: "Aka-aki's growth in Europe and the creative product development have exceeded our expectations. We are convinced that aka-aki will able to realize its enormous international potential with the fresh money".
