Allan Starr, president/CEO of Phoenix-based Marketing Partners, a strategic marketing, advertising and public relations firm that serves a diverse local, regional and national clientele, has announced his agency's signing of a new client, Leslie Muir Designs.

The Phoenix marketing agency president/CEO, who has headed the award-winning strategic marketing, advertising and public relations firm since its formation in 1976, said the agency he heads has started its multifaceted involvement with new client Leslie Muir Designs by directing targeted marketing communications to some groups closest to her.

"Two things impacted our agency's strategic marketing campaign direction for this new client, who truly is a creative force in her field," said Starr. "First, we have launched the campaign quite late in the key selling season of the holidays, and, second, Leslie takes a very personal approach to client service." Because of these factors, the advertising, public relations and marketing plans are being kept "close to home," added Starr. This means directing sales efforts to those in her networking circle, including the Executives Association of Greater Phoenix (EAGP), for which she is staging a 10-minute fashion show.

The multi-talented Muir's resume' provides evidence that she has always been an artist, and since early childhood has spent most of her time leisurely drawing, painting, sewing, and creating. Indeed, her first "job" was writing a book of poems and illustrating it, which she and her sisters sold to the neighbors. She was seven at the time.

In light of the late marketing start due to her only recently arriving in the Phoenix area, Muir is fresh from plying her trade for several years in Southern California and previous to that in Idaho, Wyoming, Montana and Texas In Arizona, she will concentrate on the design and sales of her unique one-of-a-kind shoulder bags, which she describes as shoulder bags and evening bags with lots of hand beading, with Swarovski crystals and everything in between.

After taking a brief, post-holidays breather, the multi-talented Muir, with the assistance of Marketing Partners, then will plan her next design and marketing steps for 2010. Exactly the direction this will take remains to be seen, though it is a good bet that it will follow her passion for creating custom clothing and accessories. This has included everything from leather bustiers to nun's dresses; surfing shorts to mother of the bride dresses; prom dresses to Elvis costumes.

Muir designs, including glamorous evening gowns, have been worn by celebrities to Hollywood openings and events, including the Grammy Awards. She has even created a very special nightgown for Calista Flockheart of Ally McBeal fame.

The former owner of a stained glass studio in Los Angeles for 16 years designed and created windows for Smokey Robinson, Michael Douglas and Hulk Hogan, as well as for homeowners, restaurants, offices and small chapels from Santa Barbara to Laguna Beach. She also has designed custom kitchens and cabinetry for multi-million dollar homes in the aforementioned Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Texas and California.

Despite this diverse background (she also teaches art to youngsters), the youthful artist, mother of three very successful young men and grandmother says it is time to focus on creating her striking handbags and accessories. Sales for these have never been a problem, and she and Starr feel this trend is sure to be continued once the word gets around.
