Today, Visual Numerics, Inc., a 39-year producer of advanced numerical analysis and visualization software, announced the immediate availability of version 6.0 of the IMSL C# and JMSL libraries. IMSL C# Library is the most extensive numerical library available to .NET developers. The JMSL Library is the broadest commercial numerical library available to Java programmers. Both 6.0 releases of the libraries include additional statistical, numerical analysis, charting and graphing features, and increased performance of the products' numerous algorithms.

The TIOBE Programming Community Index, a survey that rates the popularity of programming languages, ranks Java as the most popular programming language, globally, in 2009. According to the report, C# has grown in popularity to 6th place out of 50 programming languages surveyed. The growing IMSL C# and Java libraries offer new options to enterprises seeking to migrate analytic applications developed with C or Fortran libraries.

- Finance customers will benefit from a new Feynman-Kac algorithm that solves Black-Scholes problems, two new least squares optimizers, Random Copula methods, Survival Analysis; Logistic and Pareto distributions, and new support for Treemap data-visualization.

In addition, new classification capabilities in the Neural Network algorithm and new ways to select Auto_ARIMA models offer additional classification and forecasting techniques.
The IMSL C# Library offers increased performance from further leveraging Intel's Math Kernal Library. Both libraries offer more functions in native C# and Java, increasing their performance by eliminating the need to call the IMSL C library.
