The International Council of E-Commerce Consultants (EC-Council) has awarded the International Multilateral Partnership Against Cyber Threats (IMPACT) with a US$ 1 million scholarship.
IMPACT Chairman, Mohd Noor Amin said the scholarship from EC-Council supports IMPACT's agenda to enable private and public sectors to collectively take a global leadership role in the interest of their national cybersecurity.
"IMPACT will make use of the scholarship award to provide grants to partner countries, especially from the developing nations. The fund will enable interested parties, to attend briefings and courses that will equip them with invaluable exposure and privileged sector insights on the latest trends, potential threats and emerging technologies on cybersecurity," Amin added.
According to Jay Bavisi, President of EC-Council, "Cyber threats today are no longer confined to the security stature of the country but also affects the economical well being of developing nations. EC-Council strives to provide a platform for the attainment of knowledge regardless of certification affiliation and aims to support national and global security measures on combating cyber crime and cyber terrorism," he explained.
"IMPACT is the ideal recipient of the scholarship given its capacity to coordinate training for individuals from its partner countries that facilitate the building of international capability for securing vital infrastructure, threat mitigation and responding to unauthorized or unlawful electronic activity." Bavisi concluded.
