Speaking from the Exhibit Hall at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in Denver, ZCorum announced several enhancements to its TruVizion data analytics application for cable broadband providers. The new features include upgrades to the modem mapping tools and the ability to visually compare RF levels for multiple modems over time. Expo attendees can stop by the ZCorum booth for a live demonstration, or visit TruVizion.com to review case studies from TruVizion users.

TruVizion already had a mapping feature for ports and modems like other tools, but we wanted to take mapping to a whole new level.

ZCorum, a managed broadband services provider, announced the release of the latest version of its TruVizion data analytics application at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo. TruVizion gives cable ISPs the network data and analytics they need to efficiently troubleshoot plant issues, make targeted network improvements, and reduce truck rolls. The enhancements include upgrades to modem mapping, and the ability to compare RF statistics for multiple modems over time.

Speaking from the ZCorum booth in the Exhibit Hall, Scott Helms, Vice President of Technology, demonstrated the new features. "TruVizion already had a mapping feature for ports and modems like other tools, but we wanted to take mapping to a whole new level." Unlike competing applications that provide too much data on a map, Helms demonstrated how TruVizion allows you to filter the information displayed to show only off-line modems, only modems in an alert status, or only those modems with specific RF issues. "This filtering capability helps eliminate irrelevant data that can make the mapping function in other applications unusable. Plus, you can view, export or print a report for the selected modems, which can then be included in a trouble ticket or used to plan targeted truck rolls".

Another enhancement to TruVizion Helms demonstrated is a powerful RF drill-in that allows you to view RF levels for a modem over the last 24 hours, and even compare one modem to others nearby. An easy-to-read graph shows the RF statistics over the last 24 hours for the selected modem, and a comparison button overlays RF stats from the five geographically closest modems. You can even choose to map the 25 closest modems to the customer selected and overlay RF stats for any 5 modems from that list. "The data we provide allows network administrators to identify issues that are intermittent and difficult to isolate, and which could be affecting multiple customers. This allows our cable providers to take targeted and proactive action to correct problems before customers even call to complain," said Helms.

Cable engineers and technicians attending the Cable-Tec Expo can get a live demonstration of TruVizion in the Exhibit Hall at booth # 8028.
