Greenwich, Conn. (PRWEB) October 28, 2009 -- Nestlé Waters North America today introduced three new short YouTube videos to help raise awareness of the true impact of the bottled water industry on the environment and to provide detailed information on the amount of water used by the beverage industry as a whole.

How Much Water Does it Take to Make Bottled Water?

The bottled water industry is a visible user of water, but bottled water is actually the most efficient choice of any packaged beverage available to consumers. This video provides information on how Nestlé Waters is working to reduce water consumption, and a recognized environmental expert provides insight on the bottled water industry's use of water resources.

Is Nestlé Waters North America a Responsible User of Natural Resources?

In this video, Noah Hall, Executive Director of the Great Lakes Environmental Law Center, talks about issues of concern for public water supplies and how bottled water impacts those issues. The video also provides information about Nestlé Waters' partnership with The Nature Conservancy to protect the land around water sources and about the company's efforts to further reduce its environmental footprint by meeting Green Building Council LEED certification standards.

How Does Nestlé Waters Work with Communities to Access Spring Water?

This video highlights how Nestlé Waters applies for appropriate permits and seeks permission from local and state governments, and how the company participates in open dialogue with communities where its plants and spring sources are located. The company's "siting", monitoring and reporting processes are also explained, including how Nestlé Waters' team of natural resource managers evaluate water quality and replenishment rates, and study data on the sources to understand long-term health and viability.
